- Doctoral Diploma: NTUA, (1984). Ph.D. thesis on the numerical and experimental study of turbulent flow around ship models.

Research interests:

His research activities concern the fields of computational and experimental hydrodynamics and aerodynamics. His published research project includes 90 papers (in crisis) and refers to these areas.

Research experience:

He has participated in national and community programs either as a scientist or principal investigator. As responsible for the operation of the Experimental Reserve, the NTUA has undertaken approximately 50 service and research projects to external private entities and on behalf of the EU. He has been a reviewer of scientific papers in 10 international scientific journals.

During the period 1979-1985 he was a scientific associate at the Department of Naval Architectural Mechanics of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and since 1985 he has been a faculty member of the same School. In 1997 he was elected professor in the area of hydrodynamic ships (resistance-propulsion) and since then he has been permanently serving the School. Under his supervision, 50 diploma theses, two doctoral dissertations have been completed and three doctoral theses are under way. He has also participated in a number of three-member committees for supervising and examining doctoral dissertations at university departments in the home and abroad. Since 2000 he has been a member of the CTO of the Office of Interconnection and Service for students and graduates of the NTUA. He has been chairman of the NMM School during the period 2001-2003 and since 2005 he has been the Director of the Marine and Hydrodynamics Laboratory. He teaches the Hydrostatic and Stability of Ship I, II, Ship Resistance and Propulsion and Computational Hydrodynamics at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
